1 – Race with Respect – Upholding the Spirit of Motorsport

At Equipe Classic Racing, we pride ourselves not only on preserving the rich heritage of historic motorsport, but also on upholding the values that ensure its future is inclusive, safe, and welcoming for all.

In line with Motorsport UK’s Respect Code, we ask every member of the Equipe community – drivers, teams, family and supporters alike – to embrace a high standard of conduct both on and off the circuit.

The Respect Code isn’t simply a guideline – it’s a commitment to maintaining the integrity, enjoyment, and fairness of our sport. By taking part in any of our events, you are confirming your support of the following core values:

  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Fair Play
  • Self-Control
  • Good Manners

We call on all our members to:

  • Create a warm, respectful, and safe paddock atmosphere where everyone feels valued and protected
  • Act with fairness and integrity – every decision and every action counts.
  • Treat all individuals with courtesy and equality, irrespective of background, identity, or belief
  • Acknowledge that we each represent the sport – whether on track or in the pitlane, we set the tone for those around us and we are representing both Equipe Classic Racing and the Historic Racing community.

This is not just about racing. It’s about preserving the spirit of competition with grace and dignity within the paddock. Whether you are behind the wheel or behind the scenes, we each have a responsibility to call out unsporting behaviour and ensure our sport remains a place of passion and pride.

2 – Equipe Paddock Behaviour

We expect the following to be observed at all times:

  • Please do not behave in an aggressive manor to fellow competitors, teams or family (or any member of the Equipe team). If you have a point to make or feel you are being misunderstood, please discuss the issues in a calm way.
  • If you have any contact with another car on track, regardless of who you think is at fault, please find the competitor in the paddock and discuss. Please be mindful that emotion and adrenaline will be running high following the race.

3 – Equipe Red and Yellow Cards

We have a penalty system in place. If there is any contact on the circuit, we expect to talk to the parties involved. If we and the clerks believe the incident could have been avoided, one or both will be given a Red or Yellow Card.

  • A yellow card is a warning that we will be monitoring your driving and paddock behaviour.
  • A Red card is immediate exclusion from Equipe membership.

These penalties are between us and the driver, are not published and will not be disclosed.

Let’s keep the paddock a place where respect is as much a part of the race as the roar of the engines.
