We are welcoming these spectacular cars into the Equipe portfolio from 2027.

Formula Libre V8+ will feature V8-V10-V12 Single seater Formula cars built between Jan 1986 and December 2009.

This grid is creating a place for these epic cars to be able to race wheel to wheel instead of showcase demo runs.

The grid will welcome any car form the dates above including the following cars, Formula Renault, F3000, Formula Nippon, A1 GP, Euro Boss , F1

For 2027 we have a provisional 4- 5 race program that will be at Brands Hatch GP, Snetterton 300, Donington, Silverstone and Portimao.

Additional races may follow later in the season based on demand.

FiA papers are welcome but not demanded. There will be a dedicated eligibility clerk and an Equipe technical passport to include FiA specification and parts used in period. Replacement engines and gearboxes will be permitted on a case by case basis.

Our core values of car preparation and high driving standards will be demanded in Equipe Formula Libre V8+.

The Equipe ethos is to create vibrant clubman racing where fantastic historic racing cars can be driven on track by passionate amateur enthusiasts. Our aim is to create a community of drivers, a club feel and camaraderie in the paddock.

1.1 Title and Administration

Open to single-seater V8-V10-V12 racing cars, built to and complying with the original and appropriate Formula of the period running to their original specifications and using components of a type used in the period. Replacement engine and gearbox will be permitted on a case by case basis.

It is the intention of the organisers to create a friendly, gentlemanly series of good-value longer-distance events for eligible cars with competent drivers. A high standard of both car presentation and driver behaviour will therefore be expected.

1.5 Competitor Eligibility

All drivers must hold a minimum of a current Motorsport UK Race National race licence for UK events or European equivalent with FiA endorsed logo. For International events you must have a minimum of a current Motorsport UK National licence or European equivalent with FiA endorsed logo.

All drivers must be registered for the series.

1.6 Registration

All drivers must be approved by and registered with Equipe Classic Racing

All drivers will be notified of acceptance before any race entry will be considered.

Non owners or those renting / borrowing a car must be a fully paid up registered driver and will have to supply a covering letter of race experience prior to any race entry being accepted.

Equipe Classic Racing reserves the right to not accept or cancel the registration or entry of any driver at any time.

1.7 Race Entries / Cancellation

Close of entries will be 2 weeks prior to the event. Should you need to cancel your entry please inform us as soon as possible. A full refund less £25.00 admin fee will be given up to 2 weeks prior to the event. From 2 weeks to 48 hours prior to the event then a 50% refund will be given. 48 hours or less No Refund will be given.

1.8 Privacy policy

Equipe Classic Racing Ltd does not disclose buyers’ information to any third party except when order and address details are needed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.

These will be in accordance with the national regulations in the country of the event.

These will be in accordance with the national regulations in the country of the event.

All races will be from a standing start in the order set by the fastest qualifying time.

At events with two races, race one grid will be formed on the basis of the fastest qualification time ,the grid for race two will be formed using the finishing order of race one with non-finishers in order of retirement at the back of the grid. Changed drivers start from the back of the grid.

4. Race Penalties

These will be in accordance with the national regulations in the country of the event.

However, entrants should be aware that Equipe Classic Racing will monitor and discipline any poor, overly aggressive or dangerous driving and any driver or car failing to meet the standard approved by Equipe Classic Racing will receive a formal warning.

Any further infringements within a one-year period may result in exclusion from the series. The driver of any car damaged or causing damage during an Equipe Classic Racing event will also have to seek approval before they may continue to compete in future Equipe Classic Racing races.

  1. 5. Technical Regulations

5.1 EQUIPE Formula V8+  General Principles

Open to single-seater V8-V10-V12 racing cars, built to and complying with the original and appropriate Formula of the period running to their original specifications and using components of a type used in the period. Replacement engine and gearbox will be permitted on a case by case basis.

FiA identity papers are preferred but will not be required for any Equipe Classic Racing events.

A completed Equipe technical passport will need to be completed and signed by the driver and submitted before any entry will be accepted.

Additional period modifications may be accepted providing any such modifications are proven and declared to and are agreed by Equipe Classic Racing.

All variations will be allowed once proven.

All cars will be accepted or refused by Equipe Classic Racing on their individual merit.

It is expected that all cars comply with FiA appendix K vehicle regulations

The car must comply with the FIA regulations laid down in the FIA yearbook of the particular year the car was manufactured and its participation in International competition.  All parts of the wing assembly including side plates and Gurney flaps are subject to the dimension regulations.  Wing mounting design and position must be as period and photographic evidence may be requested from competitors to support particular examples.

ENGINE

Cars to run with a period correct engine where possible. Replacement engine will be allowed on a case by case basis.

The Series Chief Eligibility Scrutineer may select any engine for Eligibility and Compliance checking by internal dimensional measurement at any time.

SUSPENSION

Must be as the original type for the car.  It is forbidden to alter the working of the suspension by modifying the pick-up points.  Dampers shall be of a type fitted in period,  Out of period dampers are not permitted.

TRANSMISSION: As the car’s FIA HTP / ETP

ELECTRICS

All cars permitted in the series henceforth are required to be fitted with a high intensity FIA Approved /Homologated Red rear lights not the black tubular form.  For the avoidance of doubt, where relevant, the light should be wired for constant not flashing operation.

BRAKES

As the car’s FIA HTP. Hydraulic pipes may be replaced by Aeroquip or similar. Pad material is free. Drilled and grooved brake discs are as accepted by the FIA in the car’s HTP/VIF

Equipe Classic Racing reserves the right to re-classify any car into a more appropriate class if in their opinion it is considered to be in keeping with the potential performance of the car.

5.2 Safety Requirements

In accordance with the MSA or the national regulations in country of event.

5.3 Race Classes

Categories and Class structure – The series is divided into seven classes.  There will be seven individual class winners depending on number of starting cars in each class.  3 class starters = 1st in class, 5 class starters = 1st & 2nd in class, 7 class starters = 1st, 2nd & 3rd in class. There will not be an overall Series Champion

Class A – cars built with engines conforming to original capacity up to 3400cc

Class B – cars built with engines conforming to original capacity over 3400cc

5.4 Bodywork

Bodywork must remain as per period, Equipe Classic Racing must approve any other modifications.

5.5 Wheels

WHEELS/STEERING : As the car’s FIA HTP.

All cars must run to the Homologated wheel sizes and track.

5.6 Tyres

5.7 Race Fuel

All vehicles May  use Pump Fuel or  Racing Fuel to a maximum RON of 102.00; A full definition of pump fuel is given on page 60 of the current MUK Blue Book, but the key numbers are max RON of 100.0 and maximum lead content of 0.005 g/l.

 5.8 Weights

All cars must run to their Homolgated weight.
